Your 40s aren’t about becoming someone new—they’re about becoming more aligned, more confident, and more intentional with your life.
If you’ve been feeling a pull to “level up” but don’t want to overhaul everything overnight, this 30-day glow-up challenge is exactly what you need.
In this post, I’m going to walk you through a simple, realistic daily plan to help you improve your health, mindset, finances, home, and relationships—without burnout or extremes.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about small, consistent actions that actually stick & give you a ‘glow up.’

I’ve learned in my 40s that real change doesn’t come from doing everything at once—it comes from doing the right small things consistently.
Glow-Up Challenge for Women 40+ (30-Day Plan)
Below is your simple, doable plan. You don’t need to do everything perfectly—just focus on showing up each day and doing what you can.
Week 1: Reset Your Energy & Build Awareness
This week is all about getting back in tune with your body and your life.
Day 1: Go for a 20-minute walk
Day 2: Drink more water than usual (I like to carry a water bottle)
Day 3: Add protein to your breakfast (I like adding protein powder to my oatmeal)
Day 4: Unfollow every Instagram account that makes you want to spend money
Day 5: Declutter one small space (drawer, counter, purse)
Day 6: Go to bed earlier than usual
Day 7: Spend 10 minutes in quiet reflection, prayer, or journaling
This week may feel simple—but it builds awareness, which is where every glow-up starts.

Week 2: Build Simple, Supportive Habits
Now that you’ve reset a bit, we’re layering in habits that support your daily life.
Day 8: Take a walk after one meal
Day 9: Stretch your body for 5–10 minutes
Day 10: Eat mostly whole, simple foods today
Day 11: Review your subscriptions and get rid of at least one
Day 12: Clean one area of your home that’s been bothering you
Day 13: Reach out to a friend (text, call, or make plans)
Day 14: Create a simple morning or night routine (I like to dim the lights while getting ready for bed)
Nothing complicated—just habits you can actually keep doing.

Week 3: Upgrade Your Environment & Mindset
This is where things start to feel different.
Day 15: Open your windows or get fresh air first thing in the morning
Day 16: Replace one negative thought with a better one
Day 17: Remove 5–10 items you no longer use
Day 18: Spend time outside (walk, sit, or just breathe)
Day 19: Say “no” to something that drains you
Day 20: Listen to something uplifting (podcast, music, message)
Day 21: Write down 3 things you’re grateful for
Small mindset and environment shifts create big internal changes.

Week 4: Step Into Your Next Level
This is where you start showing up differently.
Day 22: Dress a little nicer than usual (even if you’re staying home)
Day 23: Set up an automatic monthly transfer to your savings/investing account
Day 24: Delete 5 apps from your phone (whether it’s ones you don’t use or ones that waste your time)
Day 25: Get or give yourself a pedicure/manicure
Day 26: Focus on your posture today, make sure you walk tall, sit up straight
Day 27: Do an exercise with weights today
Day 28: Do something kind for someone else (note on someone’s car, give a compliment, etc)
Day 29: Spend intentional time with someone who lifts you up
Day 30: Write down a plan for your next 30 days
You don’t need a massive transformation to feel different—you just need momentum.

Why This 30-Day Glow-Up Actually Works
Most people fail because they try to change everything at once.
This works because:
- It’s simple
- It’s realistic
- It builds on itself
- It focuses on consistency over perfection
In your 40s, your glow-up isn’t about extremes—it’s about alignment.
When your habits, environment, mindset, and actions start working together, your life naturally begins to feel better.
I’ve created habits, systems that work for me. I try to get 1% better every day. I don’t try to get 100% overnight. It’s the little things that really add up over time.
How to Keep the Glow-Up Going After 30 Days
This isn’t a one-time challenge—it’s a starting point.
After these 30 days, you’ll likely notice:
- More energy
- More clarity
- A cleaner, calmer space
- Better habits
- Stronger relationships
From here, keep going—but keep it simple.
Pick:
- 2–3 habits you want to continue
- 1 area you want to improve next
- 1 goal you want to focus on
That’s it.
There’s always room for improvement, but there’s also always room for grace. No need to beat ourselves up when we fall short, everyone falls short.
We try to make small improvements along the way and realize we won’t be perfect at it and that’s okay.
Your 40s Glow-Up Doesn’t Need to Be Complicated
You don’t need a brand-new life.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to “catch up.”
You just need to start.
One habit.
One decision.
One day at a time.
Because the truth is—your glow-up isn’t about becoming someone else…
It’s about finally becoming the version of you that feels right.
